I played a lot of different sports while growing up — from swimming and soccer to gymnastics and dance — before switching to volleyball at around 14 years old.
I knew I wanted to play a sport in college and my older sister was a volleyball player. She was going on college visits and getting recruited at the time, which looked really exciting.
So I decided to follow in her footsteps, and she taught me all the basics of the game outside our house in Katy, Texas!
Things took off from there really. I started playing for Houston Skyline and my high school team, Homeschool Christian Youth Association, before switching to Faith West Academy for my senior year.
I ended up going to play at the University of Kentucky for two years, winning the 2020 NCAA tournament final alongside my sister, which is an incredible memory to have.
Then, I transferred down to the University of Texas at Austin, only a couple of hours from home.
Playing for the Longhorns has been an unbelievable experience — winning the championship in 2022 and 2023, making so many fantastic friends and being near my family, too. And it led to me being called up to the United States squad for the 2024 FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League, which was amazing!
I graduate in December and I’m ready to start my professional career now, though I’m still working out whether that’ll be in the US or abroad. But I’m going to be playing the game I love wherever I end up, and I’m really excited to see how things develop in the weeks and months ahead.
