USC reached the second round after getting past UT Arlington (3-0) yesterday afternoon — ending their opponents’ 20-match winning streak in the process.
Prior to that, the Women of Troy had won their previous two Big Ten matches, beating Washington (3-1) on the road and Iowa (3-0) at home.
USC’s most recent loss came at Purdue in late November (0-3), but that is the team’s only defeat in their last six outings.

The Longhorns built on their impressive regular season form by sweeping Texas A&M-Corpus Christi — 25-11, 25-23, 25-12 — in Thursday's NCAA first round match-up.
