Madi was in superb form yesterday as the Texas Longhorns swept Oklahoma 25-14, 25-15, 25-19 in front of a sold-out crowd of 3,325 at McCasland Field House.
The No. 6 scored 21 kills from just 29 total attacks, for a .690 hitting percentage, including seven kills in a first set that saw the Longhorns completely dominate their opposition.
After a slower start in the second they overcame a 10-8 deficit to take a 15-12 lead from which they never faltered, eventually winning it 25-15.
The Longhorns dominated at the service line too, with four aces in that second set – before seeing out the game with authority. They drew out a nine point lead at one stage in the third and final set, and while that advantage was cut later in the game, they were able to hold off any resistance from Oklahoma and see out the sweep with a 25-19 victory.
Attention turns now to the final two regular season games at Gregory Gymnasium, with Tennessee to come on Wednesday before Ole Miss hits the court on Saturday – and you can stay across all of the updates from Madi’s progress on her website and app!
