Madi delivered a standout performance in Texas Volleyball's sweep of No.19 USC in the NCAA Second Round on Friday at Gregory Gymnasium.
Madi shone brightly in her final match at the historic venue, tallying an impressive 23 kills with a .347 hitting percentage. She also recorded her eighth double-double of the season, contributing 12 digs to the Longhorns' victory.
She played a pivotal role in Texas’ first-set comeback, overcoming a slow start to lead all players with eight kills in the frame. Her powerful offense helped the Longhorns recover from an early 8-3 deficit to claim the set, 26-24.
In the second set, Skinner’s dominance was instrumental as Texas overcame another early deficit, rallying from 10-7 down to win 25-20. Madi’s firepower helped the Longhorns through crucial points, putting them ahead 2-0 in the match.
Texas secured the third set and completed the sweep, with Madi continuing to anchor the attack during key moments. Her all-around performance capped a memorable night in front of a sold-out crowd, advancing the Longhorns to the NCAA Regional for the 19th consecutive season.
