Texas Longhorns' NCAA campaign ended at the regional semi-final stage on Friday, following a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Creighton.
Madi's team were going in search of a 'three-peat' this season, after securing consecutive triumphs in 2022 and 2023.
But they were unable to progress past the Bluejays in Pennsylvania, despite winning the opening set by a 26-24 scoreline.
Their Nebraska-based opponents rallied after that initial setback, however, taking the next set by 25-19 to level things up at Rec Hall.
And Creighton secured passage to the regional final by claiming their second and third consecutive sets by 25-21 and 25-20, respectively, to bring the curtain down on the Longhorns' 2024 season — leaving them with an overall record of 20-7.
Madi ended the game with a team-high 23 kills, but will nonetheless be disappointed by her side's early exit, as Texas failed to progress past the Sweet 16 for only the second time in 19 years.
